Firstly.. you cna be a learner.. lifelong provided you have that enthu in you burning ... it doesn't always matter if they are useful to us... you would be a changed person... :) you start to having different prespectives about life... and you'll get to know cultures of people around the world..(wondering how.. wel,, you gotta experience a MOOC..) :)
secondly.. as the notion goes on.."FACEBOOK ruins you.." well it burns you.. rots you as well... unless you put a pretty good use to it..
yesterday sairam was shocked to see my list of subscribed groups iover FB and asked... why.. story repeat..i then realised that people always thought.." ii nikil gaadiki em pani pataa ledu.. eppudu chudu ii FB loo paduntaadu.." mi yenkamma tenki's... anukuna neenu.. lol.. people soo like being judgemental...

other things you can seriously be addicted to other than facebook adn still be knowledgeble..
1. Reddit.. awesome mann... every single information you need from crap.. the discussions are really really good... thanks to stanford AI class..
2. pinterest... looks convincing..
3.evernote .... used or sharing notes online and maintaining it. more like and extended bookmark..
4.tumblr... just used for well, i donno.. may be a different version of blogging..:P
5. IMDB... :D ofcourse useful for info about movies.. and reviews..
6. the open coursewares... and here for future ref.. a list of my best ...

PS: working my ass off... on harvard's cs50 from edx.. god.. no i understand the real intellectual value of these universities...:) every thing seems like a cakewalk for these people and they inject teh same into you..
